Personal:

I am a 37 year old Male.  I have been married now for over 15 years.  I have three kids, all boys.  My boys ages are 14, 11 and 7.  I have always enjoyed running and my wife is slowly being converted.   While I was going through college I didn't do much running so I am having to teach my leg how to run fast again.

8.42 in 1:04:?? averaged a 7:36 average.  Ran with Nick again.  I used the garmin to track the distance but the distance seams short.  When I run with Nick I want to use it more of a tempo run but I struggled durring part of the run.  I had some stomic issues.  I did run the last few miles close to marathon pace.

ran 16.68 miles in 2:17:21 a 8:14 average.   All week I was debating running a 5K today but decided a wanted to get a long run in.  Last week as I went to run I saw a local running right by my house.  He was ending his run but we set up running together today.  Dave is a pretty good runner.  Dave is a much faster 5k and 10K runner but our half and marathon PR's are pretty close.  He was only planning on running 8 miles today, so I ran a two lap course.  The first lap we ran together, then the second lap I ran by myself.  The first lap we averaged a 7:45 mile.  The second lap I slowed down.  I only averaged a 8:44 average.  Between thursdays run and the first 8 miles my legs were pretty tired.

 mile splits

7:51, 7:53, 7:21, 7:26, 7:40, 7:37, 7:53, 8:16, 8:11, 9:10, 8:22, 7:53, 8:36, 8:22, 8:53, 9:38, 6:10 for the last .68 a (9:05) average

The garmin said 2264ft ascent with 2104 ft Descent.  I started and stop in the same spot so take the elevation change with a grain of salt.

9.6 miles in 1:22:04 a 8:33 average.  Ran easy.  I started the run wanting it to be a recovery run.  The run felt relaxed the whole way.

A big zero.  I planning on running about 8 oclock after my sons pack meeting.  My legs have been feeling pretty good all day, but about 6:00 my left knee starts to swell up and hurt.  The Knee continue to get worse as the night goes on.  I didn't hit it, or take a bad step nothing I can remember, but it is twice the size of the other knee.  My knee cap hurts.  This is not funny.

Got the knee looked at.  The doctor put me on 600 mg of Clindamycin 4 times a day for the next 10 days, plus 2 IV treatments.  The first one was today, the next one will by Friday 24 hours later.  I am not suppose to do much for the next few days and keep my leg up.  In a about a week I can start running again, when the swelling and redness goes down.

5.5 mile not timed. Merry Christmas to me, I was able to run. When I went running my knee still had a little swelling in it and it was a little tender. I am finely off the medication. The medication made it really hard to run. You don't need to hear about it, it wasn't fun.

The knee having a little swelling was loose, it felt strange flapping on every step. After the run the knee felt better than it has felt for the last two weeks. By the next morning the swelling was almost all gone and the tenderness was almost all gone.
