Personal:

I am a 37 year old Male.  I have been married now for over 15 years.  I have three kids, all boys.  My boys ages are 14, 11 and 7.  I have always enjoyed running and my wife is slowly being converted.   While I was going through college I didn't do much running so I am having to teach my leg how to run fast again.

20.25 in 2:31:51 a 7:30 average.   I was planning on meeting up with Riley and some of his fast friends.  In an email he said they were meeting at Rainbow Gardens at the mouth of ogden canyon.  I thought that was the name of the store that had the post office right acrossed it and a subway.   I was wrong.   After waiting at South Fork center until about 7:00 I drove up the canyon dropping water and gu.  Then I parked at the park in huntsville and ran 10 miles up and then ran 10 miles back down.  I was pretty happy with my pace going up the canyon.  I averaged a 7:40 mile goind up.  I was hoping to do 10 marathon pace miles on the way down the canyon.   On the way up the canyon about 9.25 miles up I see Riley's group of friends.  I was tempted to turn around and try and stay with them, but I know that was pointless.   They were so much faster than me.   I wanted to run with the group because I figured it would push me and help run faster.   Back to running down the canyon.  I just couldn't run marathon pace miles.  For a good portion of the way down I was running into a head wind.   When I got to the main road in huntville I saw Riley's group heading back up to get there car.  I had a little less than a mile left.  I wish I could run faster at the end of the run.

6 miles not timed.  The first of the week I planned on running 12 miles today.  However, my legs are really sore and I didn't sleep very well last night.  I think I am at the border of over training, so I cut the workout down.  This run an active recovery run.  Hopefully my legs well feel better tomorrow so I can do a two a day with a speed workout.  In short go easy today so tomorrow I can really run hard.
