Personal:

I am a 37 year old Male.  I have been married now for over 15 years.  I have three kids, all boys.  My boys ages are 14, 11 and 7.  I have always enjoyed running and my wife is slowly being converted.   While I was going through college I didn't do much running so I am having to teach my leg how to run fast again.

Ran the Perry 5K.  I wasn't sure what to expect, this close to the marathon.  The last two weeks If I had a good workout, my legs would feel heavy for the next few days.   I am really happy with this race.  I set a new PR by 3 seconds.   The first mile I tried to take it easy.  The first mile is mostly down hill.   At about .8 mile you turn left and start going up a gradual up hill that last until about the 2 mile marker.  Going up the hill I pass a number of runners.  I only get passed by one runner on this section.  He ended up taking second place.  I pass one more runner at about 2.3 mile marker.  The last mile my legs felt tired.   I tried to close on the runner in front of me but he stayed about 50 yard in front of me.  I finished about 20 second behind 5th and 30 seconds ahead of 7th.  I did good not looking behind me the last half mile just trying to close on the runner ahead of me.

Splits  6:03, 6:39, 6:35, 0:27 for the last .1

8.25 miles in 1:11:36 a 8:40 mile.  Ran up to the Snow man shuffle course twice and run home.  Legs felt pretty tired after the 5K and a water fight later that day.   I think I ran more at the water fight then the 5K.  It might sound funny but at least an hour splash others using cups.  You run a lot when it is 7 on 1 and you are the one.  I am proud to say I might of been the driest of the seven.

10.1 miles in 1:19:35 a 7:54 average. Ran to Mantua and back. On the way up I thought I was doing pretty good. I only had one mile in the nine's most of the miles was around 8:45. I started going up the canyon and there was a kid riding his bike up the canyon also. Going up the first part I passed him, then there was a little down hill section and he pulls about 100 yard ahead. The last 2 miles to Mantua I don't think the bike added any but I wasn't able to close. At the Mantua exit I cross to the other side and start running down the canyon. The first mile and a half goes pretty well but I had a strong head wind. I struggle the last few miles.

6.05 miles.  I was planning on running farther but it took 2 hours to put the camper on the truck.  I didn't really have time for this run but I did it anyway.  Went to Coalville got there about 9:00pm.  Took me forever to get the camper on then the trucks battery died and I had to jump the truck.  Then the ignition switch would not unlook.  I hope the key is just wearing out, because replacing the ignition switch would be a pain.  I filled up the truck in Coalville and I took me an half an hour jiggling the key to get the ignition switch to unlock.

18 miles in 2:13:58 ran with the ATK running club.  Ran 4 laps around mantua lake.  The first two laps I added about a mile.  The first mile I ran with Russ at about 8 minute pace.  The second lap I stayed a talked with my wife for a few minutes and told Russ I would catch up with him.  I started to run trying to catch up with Russ. That is were I did the marathon pace miles, but he stopped at a rest stop so I never found him.  After the first two miles I ran about 7:15 miles for the rest of the run.

12 miles in 1:41:12 a 8:26 average.  I ran the frontage road after work.  This means it is hot.  I am front loading my miles this week.  I am running a 5K this weekend and would like to do well, but I don't want to set my training back.  The 5K is part of a Corporate challange, so other team mates will be expecting a good time.

For the last 2 days I have had people call out Run Forest run I have decided to keep track how many I get.

Corporate 5k that was really 3.0 miles.  I know Garmin's are not very close but when they measure a course short I normally believe that the course is short.  The course was 3 laps around Cottonwood park.  I was passed after a half a mile into the race.  I passed about 8-10 runners in the last 2 laps.  Splits 6:16, 6:35, 6:42. 3 seconds for the last .01 miles Total time 19:35 it would be a PR if it wasn't short.  Tough course.  Grass with a number of hills.
